Johnny Depp ‘Devastated’ After Being At Bedside While Legendary Guitarist Jeff Beck Died

Actor and musician Johnny Depp was at Jeff Beck’s bedside prior to his untimely passing, and sources close to the actor say he’s “totally devastated” by the loss of his dear friend.

“They had a really tight friendship, they were extremely close,” the source told People. “He got even closer over this past summer when they were touring together.”

Beck and Depp had embarked on a tour after releasing their new album “18” in July 2021.

Beck’s family announced his death Wednesday, prompting messages of condolence from fans and fellow musicians. The legendary guitarist was beloved by fans across the globe, and was credited for inspiring guitarists of all ages with his incredible talent.

Beck and Depp had also released an official music video for their single “This Is a Song for Miss Hedy Lamar,” according to People. The legal team that represented Depp in his $10 million defamation case against Amber Heard attended Depp and Beck’s live concert in the summer of 2022.

Beck contracted bacterial meningitis and passed away peacefully, according to a statement released by his family. The family requested privacy while they process the sudden loss.

Beck was 78 years old.
