I love Mike McDaniel even more after this.
Head coach Mike McDaniel is being hit with questions left and right after his (and my) Miami Dolphins suffered a 34-31 nail-biter loss to the Buffalo Bills in the NFL Playoffs, and no, not all of them are about his problems with clock management (that I personally blame Skylar Thompson for rather than Mike McDaniel).
In fact, it had everybody asking “what the hell is he doing?” when CBS cameras zoomed in on his face, and though people were asking the same thing with Miami’s slow movement in the game, this particular incident’s question hasn’t been answered yet.
When the cameras closed in on McDaniel, he was spotted pressing his hand against his mouth, and to a lot of fans (including myself), it appeared that coach was vaping and concealing the pen, taking a massive rip as the camera eventually cut back to the game.

Now obviously I have a journalistic responsibility to say that we don’t know for sure that Mike McDaniel was ripping a vape, but come on, let’s just be honest here, that’s exactly what he was doing.
My biggest question: Was it nicotine, or THC?
That game between the Dolphins and Bills was absolutely amazing, and even though it didn’t work out for my boys in the end, it didn’t have to. We were expected to get blown the hell out in that game, but instead, nearly pulled off a “shock the world” upset with a third-string quarterback — Miami came away from that game looking pretty, despite all of the clock management issues, but like I said, we weren’t even supposed to be in the game.
The amount of criticism being levied at Mike McDaniel right now, whose team was 14 point dogs, on its 3rd string QB, and started the game down 17-0, is simply astounding to me.

In the middle of it though, it was incredibly stressful. I know for me personally, I was about to shit myself, so I know the nervous levels the Dolphins had were injected with steroids — particularly McDaniel. So how does my man respond (allegedly)?
By taking a big ass rip out of a vape, and I’m rockin’ with the narrative that it was THC. Yeah, he would still be cool if it was nicotine, but just imagine how much of a G he would look like if we found out this man was Snoop Doggin’ on the sideline. And now here are my Miami Dolphins heading into the season of Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers, and quite frankly, Mike McDaniel is such a cool mother(bleeper) that he’s landing both of them!
