Pete Davidson and Snoop Dogg have officially been named team captions of the 2023 NFL Pro Bowl.

Fans who expected professional athletes to take on team caption roles are in for a surprise. Davidson will be the National Football Conference (NFC) captain alongside coach Eli Manning, and Snoop Dogg will be the American Football Conference (AFC) captain, joining Peyton Manning, People reported Thursday.

“I’m comin’ back to the NFL field, but this time, instead of performing, I’m going head-to-head with Pete and competing for the title of The Pro Bowl Games Champion,” Snoop Dogg told the outlet. “The competition is going to go off, but we all know that Peyton and our AFC squad are gonna do some big things. We’ll end up on that podium.”

The 2023 Pro Bowl will air over a two-day period in early February before Super Bowl LVII takes place Feb. 12.

Snoop Dogg’s last Super Bowl appearance was his halftime show performance alongside musical legends Dr. Dre, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, Kendrick Lamar and 50 Cent in 2022.

“Saturday Night Live” alum and self-proclaimed New York Giants fan Pete Davidson said he is taking on the role for a very unique reason. (RELATED: Bill Belichick Allegedly Invited Player To Pro Bowl So Everyone Could See His Girlfriend Pamela Anderson In The Pool)

“I’m doing this to impress my Uncle Mike,” he told People.

The 2023 Pro Bowl airs Feb. 2 from Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada. Pro Bowl players will compete in eight skills challenges, followed by a non-contact flag football game Feb. 5.

Fans can keep tabs on how well Davidson and Snoop Dogg handle their new duties by tuning in to ESPN at 7:00 p.m. Feb 2.
