Hey … Jim Gray asked, and Tom Brady kept it G.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady, who is set to be an unrestricted free agent beginning in March, showed outright annoyance on his podcast, “Let’s Go!” after legendary co-host Jim Gray asked him about his future in the NFL.

“Tom, you’re leaving everybody guessing,” Gray said. “You’ve said you’ll take your time. Do you have any type of a timetable as to what you might want to do regarding your football career?”

Clearly irritated by the question, Brady dropped a couple f-bombs in response.

“Jim, if I knew what I was going to fucking do, I’d have already fucking done it. Okay? I’m taking it a day at a time,” Brady said.

Okay … so not only is Tom Brady a seven-time Super Bowl champion, but he’s also a bit of a G.

And so is Jim Gray, by the way. He didn’t get intimidated by Brady at all, and I understand these two have been friends for quite some time now, but still … Jim made sure he got to the point and stuck with it. I mean, he’s right: Everybody does want to know what’s going on with Brady and his future (including myself). With that being said, though, Brady has probably already heard this question a solid 10 million times already, so I get his annoyance.

And then, I love how Brady came in and said, “You’re scratching.” I’m not 100% sure what exactly Brady meant by that, but if I had to guess, it was a way of labeling Gray a “feen” — like he was “feening” for the answer. I don’t know if that’s what Brady meant or not, but if he did, what a fantastic line. I’m totally using this now, whether I’m right or not. But let’s give Tom some time, folks. That man obviously needs a vacation and needs to wind down from the stress.

In the meantime, you can check out my other excellent offseason coverage of Brady — here, here, here and here.

Enjoy some time off, Tom. I’ll see you in March, when you announce you’re joining my Miami Dolphins.
