Madonna canceled the production of her biopic after announcing she was embarking on a world tour, Variety reported Tuesday.

The highly anticipated biopic, starring Julia Garner, has been indefinitely scrapped, without any public comment or explanation from the star, according to Variety. The project was to be directed by Madonna herself and sources close to the situation confirmed it is no longer in development at Universal Pictures, the outlet reported.

Madonna and her camp have remained tight-lipped on the reason for the cancelation of the project but speculation over the movie’s fate began when the famous singer announced her aggressive tour schedule. The 64-year-old star already sold out shows in New York, London and Paris.

Sources close to Madonna revealed her time and energy will be focused on the tour itself, but have not entirely ruled out the future revival of the biopic, saying she remains to committed to capturing her life in film in the future, according to Variety. Madonna reportedly worked on two script drafts that encompassed a significant span of time in both her career and her personal life, according to Variety.

Sara Zambreno and Madonna’s manager of many years, Guy Oseary, were tapped to executive produce the biopic when it was announced in its infancy.
