Former President Donald Trump won a golf club championship at Trump International Golf Club in Palm Beach, Florida, over the weekend, despite missing the tournament’s first day.

The two-day senior club championship began Saturday. Trump was unable to compete that day because he was attending a memorial service for Lynette “Diamond” Hardaway of Diamond & Silk, the conservative influencer duo.

To compete in the club tournament after missing the first day, Trump recorded a score from a round he played Thursday as his Saturday score, according to the Daily Mail.

“Insiders” allegedly told the Daily Mail that the former president simply told members in the tournament he would be using his Thursday score to make up for missing Saturday. “Other competitors simply shrugged” at Trump’s leaderboard jump and did not raise complaints.

Trump’s Saturday score put him five strokes ahead of the other members in the tournament. The former president recorded a score of 40, which was calculated using the Stableford scoring method that gives golfers one point for a bogey, two for a par, and three for a birdie.

On Sunday, Trump took to Truth Social to celebrate his club championship victory, calling it “a great honor,” noting how he “was hitting the ball long and straight.” (RELATED: Hilarious Video Shows Trump Surviving The ‘Back Off Challenge’)

The former president turned his championship-winning golf game into a campaign pitch, saying that his performance exemplifies how he has the “strength and stamina to WIN.”

“[You] also need strength & stamina to GOVERN!” he wrote.
