The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LMVPD) arrested former actor-turned-alleged-cult-leader Nathan Lee Chasing His Horse, also known as Nathan Chasing Horse, on allegations of sexual assault.
Chasing Horse was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon near a Las Vegas home he shares with five wives, according to the Associated Press (AP). SWAT officers surrounded his home in the evening as detectives searched the property for evidence. Chasing Horse has been accused of assaulting young Indigenous girls for two decades, AP reported.
Chasing Horse starred in Kevin Costner’s Oscar-winning movie, “Dancing With Wolves.” Police received a tip in October 2022 and launched a months-long investigation into the actor, which ultimately led to his arrest, according to the outlet. Police have charged Chasing Horse with numerous crimes, including sex trafficking of an adult, sexual assault of a child younger than 16, sexual assault and child abuse/neglect, according to an announcement from the LVMPD.

Chasing Horse is thought to be the leader of a cult called The Circle, AP reported, citing the 50-page LMVPD search warrant.
Las Vegas police have uncovered at least six alleged victims, as well as numerous sexual assault allegations against Chasing Horse in multiple states, according to AP. Some of the alleged attacks date back to the early 2000s, and reportedly span across Montana, South Dakota and Nevada.
“Nathan Chasing Horse used spiritual traditions and their belief system as a tool to sexually assault young girls on numerous occasions,” the warrant reads, according to AP. Chasing Horse’s devout followers allegedly believed he was a “Medicine Man” who could communicate with holy entities. A few of Chasing Horse’s alleged victims were as young as 13 years old, the warrant says, according to AP. One of Chasing Horse’s wives was allegedly given to him as a “gift” when she was 15 years old, the outlet reported.
Claims against the disgraced actor include accusations that he recorded his alleged sexual assaults. He also reportedly arranged for other men to have sex with some of the victims for a price.
Chasing Horse was banished from the Fort Peck Reservation in Poplar, Montana, in 2015 over reports of human trafficking, according to AP.
