Former Republican California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger reportedly hit a female bicyclist with his vehicle in West Los Angeles, Sunday morning.

Law enforcement officers said the female cyclist made an abrupt left turn in front of Schwarzenegger’s car, and he didn’t have enough time to hit the brakes, according to TMZ. The victim was rushed to the emergency room for assessment and was treated for minor injuries, the outlet reported. Those close to the situation reported that Schwarzenegger was not driving very fast and that the woman is expected to make a full recovery, according to TMZ.

Three eyewitnesses reported seeing the woman veer into Schwarzenegger’s lane three times, according to TMZ. The female victim was complaining about being in pain at the scene of the accident and remains in stable condition at this time, the outlet reported. Drugs and alcohol do not appear to have played a role in what has been deemed an unfortunate traffic accident, according to TMZ. (RELATED: Conor McGregor Gets Hit By Car At Full Speed)

Schwarzenegger remained on-scene and spoke with the police regarding how the incident unfolded. He reportedly picked up the woman’s bike and attached it to his car and is said to be taking the bike to a local shop for repair, according to TMZ.

Police have reportedly determined that the accident was not Schwarzenegger’s fault, and could not have been avoided.
