Two thieves were recorded on camera seemingly stealing a $77,000 diamond necklace from the Bloomingdale’s store at Aventura Mall outside Miami.

Employees discovered the alleged December crime in mid-January while doing inventory, according to Local 10 News.

Surveillance video shows a couple appearing to cooperate to uncage the 22.9 carat necklace as customers walk by. A woman hands a man a tool resembling a hanger or a wire. The man then slides the tool into the display case, taking his time as he hooks free the pricy piece of jewelry.

Aventura police continue to search for the two thieves. (RELATED: Watch Thieves Brazenly Steal Apple Products As Store Employees Tells Bystanders To ‘Let Them Go’)

Police ask anyone with information to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.

In the same month as the jewelry theft, a man was arrested for poisoning koi fish in a pond at the same mall. Nearly half of the 50 fish died after the December chemical dump.

In May 2021, five people were injured when gunfire erupted near the mall’s Hugo Boss store after an argument turned physical. Shoppers evacuated the mall, and police made two arrests.
