Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy and his wife, Hillary Vaughn, welcomed their first-born baby girl into the world Feb. 1.
Doocy announced the birth of their daughter, Bridget Blake Doocy, in a Thursday tweet, where he said he asked President Joe Biden for “tips” on being a father.
“Meet Bridget Blake Doocy! Asked @joebiden for tips about being a new dad, at the WH holiday reception. His advice: ‘hold her tight.’ Will do!” Doocy said.

Doocy and Vaughn announced they were expecting during a September “Fox & Friends” segment in which his father, Fox News anchor Steve Doocy, shared recipes from his cookbook. Vaughn told the program’s audience live on-air that she was “eating for two,” and then shared a photograph of her ultrasound.
The couple eloped in 2021 in a private wedding ceremony in South Carolina.

At the White House press briefing held Jan. 3, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre joked that Doocy should name his daughter after her. The briefing room burst into laughter at this suggestion. (RELATED: ‘What Is The White House Trying To Hide?’: Peter Doocy Confronts KJP In Feisty Exchange)
“I thought you were gonna ask for my okay to name your daughter Karine. I thought that’s where we were going here,” Jean-Pierre joked after she called on Doocy, with whom she shares a notoriously adversarial relationship.
“Josephina,” Doocy replied.
“I know, I know. I think Karine sounds just as good too,” the press secretary said.
“Okay, we’ll take it under advisement,” he answered.
On Jan. 6, the Fox News journalist posted a picture to Instagram that showed him asking President Joe Biden a question on the White House south lawn, along with a joking caption that read, “MISTER PRESIDENT, WHAT SHOULD WE NAME OUR DAUGHTER?”

Doocy is the latest in a string of prominent Fox News employees to announce new births or pregnancies in recent months. Former White House press secretary and “Outnumbered” co-host Kayleigh McEnany welcomed her son, Nash Gilmartin, at the start of December, and “The Five” co-anchor Jesse Watters announced in December that he and his wife, Emma DiGiovine, are expecting a baby girl in April.
