Republican Rep. Ralph Norman of South Carolina, a member of the House Freedom Caucus, endorsed Nikki Haley’s run for president in 2024.

He announced his support for the former South Carolina governor Wednesday, citing a need for a new generation and fresh leadership. Norman, an ally of former President Donald Trump and one of the GOP members who initially resisted Kevin McCarthy’s speakership, is endorsing Haley instead.

“We are at a pivotal point in our nation. While the Republican candidates, values, and messages have done very well here in South Carolina, that hasn’t been the case everywhere across our great nation,” Norman said in a tweet.

His endorsement comes as Haley formally announced her candidacy in Charleston, South Carolina, Wednesday. Norman served alongside Haley in South Carolina’s House of Representatives.

Republican Rep. Harriet Hageman of Wyoming also announced her endorsement of former President Donald Trump for the 2024 GOP primaries. Trump endorsed Hageman to beat Liz Cheney in 2022, so she vowed to support him next year.

“I believe that Donald Trump was one of the best presidents of my lifetime,” Hageman told Breitbart.

Trump’s support for Hageman came after Cheney’s push to impeach him following the Jan. 6 Capitol riots. Hageman took Cheney down in August’s GOP primary and went on to win the seat, according to Politico. (RELATED: There’s One Clear Way Trump Can Stand Out From His 2024 Rivals)

Many other Republican lawmakers have publicly announced their endorsement of the former president, including Senators Lindsey Graham of South Carolina and J.D. Vance of Ohio, along with Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia and Matt Gaetz of Florida.
