Twitter exploded Wednesday with theories that the hit cowboy drama “Yellowstone” is actually a liberal psy-op.

From what I can gather, a meme of “Yellowstone” leading man, Kevin Costner, in character as notorious rancher and fictional Montana Gov. John Dutton is being used by conservatives to argue the show is actually a liberal psychological operation (psy-op) to macro-manipulate Republicans into favoring liberal policies.

One Twitter user, Matthew J. Peterson, wrote an incredibly eloquent thread on the theory. “The meme is a very good one. It hits on what Hollywood has played off of for a very long time: people are so starved for anything that so much as nods to their red state American existence that they will accept corrupted stories that ultimately revile and betray them,” he wrote, before arguing Disney has done a similar thing for years.

I still can’t figure out what part of “Yellowstone” anyone thinks is woke. If someone can let me know, that would be great. Personally, I believe Taylor Sheridan co-created the series because that’s his job. (RELATED: Study Reveals The Insane Impact ‘Yellowstone’ Had On One State)

He loves horses, cowboying, all that rough and tumble stuff. He figured out a way to write an epic series and so many superb spin-offs that he’s even managed to become part-owner of one of America’s oldest ranches as a result, according to the Fort Worth Report.

While we may never know, nor care, if “Yellowstone” is a psy-op, what’s for sure is Twitter is a cult and no one in the real world cares about what happens on there. So none of this even matters! Yay!
