Jessica Simpson’s recent Instagram photos sparked concern among her fans and followers about the star’s dramatically thin frame.

Simpson shared a love-themed Valentine’s Day photo dump with her 6.2 million followers Sunday, but was met with criticism and concern over her appearance. The first photo shows Simpson sitting on a flight of stairs with one of her children, her tiny frame sunk beneath her sunglasses. The picture drew attention to what fans are speculating is excessive weight loss.

Simpson is decked out in a red robe, red heart-covered socks and red Adidas slippers in the first photo. “Whole Lotta Love ❤️” she wrote in the caption of her post.

Many fans skipped over the “love” and went straight to worrying about Simpson’s health and overall wellbeing, with one fan writing, “You need to gain a lot of weight, fast!”

“She could use a few bowls of pasta her kids are bigger than her that’s when you should know there’s a problem,” another user wrote.

Some fans came to Simpson’s defense and asked users to stop commenting on her body, but those worried about the star continued to share their concern and attempted to explain why they felt it was necessary to share their feelings about her weight. One account insisted the comments were prompted by sheer concern for Simpson and not purposefully negative online chatter.

“People can see something is off. Nobody is trying to be hateful or hurtful. There have been stars who died because of eating problems, Karen Carpenter is one of them,” the user said.

Another user wrote, “CLEARLY!! something IS wrong 😑 😢,” with another saying, “Something isn’t right how she looks.”

“You do not look well,” another user commented on Simpson’s post.

Simpson has not come forward to address the concern about her weight at the time of writing.
