CNN’s Don Lemon tweeted another apology early Wednesday morning before returning to his morning show, but was silent about the recent debacle while live on air.

Lemon returned to air on Wednesday after being absent since Thursday, following comments he made about Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley.

Lemon took to Twitter to express gratitude for the opportunity to return.

“I appreciate the opportunity to be back on @CNNThisMorning today,” Lemon tweeted. “To my network, my colleagues and our incredible audience — I’m sorry. I’ve heard you, I’m learning from you, and I’m committed to doing better. See you soon.”

Lemon, however, made no reference to his scandal while on air.

The incident began when Lemon was commenting on one of Haley’s proposals that politicians 75 and older should be subject to mental competency tests.

“[Haley] says people, you know, politicians are suddenly not in their prime. Nikki Haley isn’t in her prime. Sorry, when a woman is considered to be in her prime [is] in [her] 20s and 30s and maybe 40s.”

The comments drew condemnation, including from co-host Poppy Harlow, who pushed back and asked whether Lemon was referring to “childbearing.” (RELATED: ‘The Dumbest Man On Television’: Trump Mocks Don Lemon For Sinking CNN Ratings)

Lemon was absent from the show Friday, though his absence was announced on Thursday’s show. He was also absent both Monday and Tuesday.

CNN’s CEO Chris Licht said in a memo to employees late Monday night that Lemon “has agreed to participate in formal training” over his comments and that the network took “this situation very seriously.”
