Brandon Miller, who is the standout freshman forward for the University of Alabama Crimson Tide men’s basketball team, has been in the news cycle the entire season for flash and dash play, but as of late, he’s been in the news on a larger scale, and for all of the wrong reasons — which ended up cooking up some announcer blunder, but we’ll get to that in a moment.

Let me fill you in on everything if you’re not aware: Miller, who is a projected lottery pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, is a person of interest alongside teammate Darius Miles in relation to a shooting in Tuscaloosa that killed a woman. Ever since the shooting happened, Miller was able to avoid the spotlight, but when the news came out about his potential involvement, that all changed — hell, it even had me watching my first Alabama basketball game last night. It’s that wild of a story.

New testimony claims Miles got the alleged murder weapon out of Miller’s vehicle right before the shooting took place.

Now we get to the funny part: Though Miller has been facing media scrutiny, he hasn’t actually been charged with anything, so as a result, he was allowed to play Feb. 22 in a road game against the South Carolina Gamecocks. Per usual, he was excellent, racking up 41 points and hitting both the game-tying and game-winning shots. But a comment that an announcer made near the end of the game completely overshadowed his performance. Just check out this after all of the anticipation that I put you through:

I died.
