Helen Mirren received a Critics Choice Super Award nomination Thursday for her role in the hit-cowboy prequel “1923.”

Mirren portrays the role of Cara Dutton on the Taylor Sheridan spin-off series and it might be her best role to date. Not only is Sheridan’s writing some of the best he’s ever done for screen, but Mirren’s choices for the Yellowstone-Dutton Ranch matriarch will make you laugh, cry, and force your blood to run cold with the sheer power she brings to the screen.

Mirren received the “Best Actress in an action series, limited series, or made for TV movie” nomination from the Critics Choice Super Awards. The social media team supporting “1923” shared the news in a post to their Instagram page, congratulating the iconic actress.

She’s competing against “Yellowstone” leading lady, Kelly Reilly, who plays Beth Dutton in the series, according to the official nominee list shared by Variety. Both will have to fight off Angela Bassett, who was nominated for her role in “9-1-1.”

“1923” was initially assumed to be a limited series, with a one-season run like its predecessor, “1883,” but has since been picked up for a second season due to an overwhelmingly positive response to the all-star show. Kevin Costner was also nominated for his role as John Dutton in “Yellowstone.” He’ll be going up against Sylvester Stallone and Sheridan’s other hit series “Tulsa King.” No matter what the outcome is, the biggest winner in this year’s Critics Choice Super Awards is clearly Sheridan, who has gifted the world with way too many incredible series (and we still want more).
