Republican Texas Rep. Chip Roy sounded off on federal agencies and congressional Democrats over their alleged politicization against conservatives and pro-life activists.

Roy, a member of the House Judiciary Committee, tore into the opposite political party for criticizing Republicans over their push for border security and allegedly take no action on the crisis themselves. He accused the party of ignoring the FBI’s targeting of conservatives, including the arrest of pro-lifers.

“My colleagues on the other side of the aisle can continue to try to divvy us up by race while we focus on an FBI that made Scott Smith a poster child as a ‘domestic terrorist and extremist’… Scott Smith was called a domestic terrorist and extremist because he dared go to a school board to defend his little girl who was raped in a bathroom in Loudoun County, Virginia,” the Texas representative said.

Smith was arrested for disorderly conduct and obstruction of justice in 2021 as he attended a school board in Loudoun County, Virginia. His daughter was allegedly raped in her school bathroom at Stone Bridge High School by a biological boy wearing a skirt. Roy continued by condemning the FBI for storming the home of and arresting Mark Houck, a father and Catholic pro-life activist who was charged with violating the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act over allegations that he assaulted an abortion clinic volunteer. Houck was found not guilty Jan. 30 of violating federal law.

“Why was that door busted down?” Roy said. “Because he defended his son where he and his son exercised their First Amendment right outside of an abortion clinic praying in defense of the unborn. So, I will just say, an apology to the American people for wasting your time with the continued garbage that we’ve been experiencing for the last four years with Democrats in the majority. But we’re gonna focus on doing the work of the American people.”

He vowed to secure the U.S.-Mexico border and defund the bureaucrats and agencies that are allegedly “stifling entrepreneurial spirit,” economic growth and exercising the rights ensured under the First Amendment.

“My colleagues on the other side of the aisle can keep playing the old playbook, divide people by race, create more alphabet soup of identity politics, but we’re gonna focus on the job the American people sent us to do and that’s what this is about,” Roy said.

House Republicans have cracked down on federal agencies since they took over the chamber in January. Republican Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan said in early February that dozens of former FBI agents have come forth to expose the agency’s politicization.
