“Yellowstone” star Luke Grimes, who portrays the role of Kayce Dutton on the hit cowboy drama, landed a major music festival gig, according to a March poster.

Grimes is set to take the stage at the Pilgrimage Music and Cultural Festival, a huge event in Franklin, Tennessee, just outside of Nashville, according to a banner from the festival. He’ll join Zach Bryan, Ian Munsick, The Lumineers, The Black Crowes and more for the two-day event.

The “Yellowstone” legend first released original music in December via his social media channels — a similar move to country music legend John Rich’s recent releases. The debut single is entitled “No Horse to Ride.”

Grimes is far from the only “Yellowstone” star to combine his love of on-screen cowboying with writing music. Both Kevin Costner (John Dutton) and Ryan Bingham (Walker) are musicians, but only the latter has performed on the Taylor Sheridan-created series. It’s probably for the best that Grimes finds something to fill his time throughout 2023, as it looks like “Yellowstone” might be on hiatus for a while. Tensions between Costner and Sheridan have reportedly reached a fever pitch over shooting schedules. It could be that Costner leaves the show during the second half of the fifth season, leaving the future of the Dutton Yellowstone ranch up in the air.
