A mugging suspect reportedly left a 44-year-old woman partially paralyzed, as video shows a man body-slamming her to the ground while appearing to rob her in February.

Nhung Truong, a widowed mother of three, was left partially paralyzed during a brutal mugging outside of a Houston shopping center Feb. 13, KHOU reported. Troung had withdrawn cash for an upcoming trip when she was approached from behind by an unknown male and mugged. When the assailant realized he hadn’t snatched the envelope of cash Troung was holding, he reportedly turned back around, picked the victim up and slammed her down to the ground, damaging her spinal cord, according to Fox 26.

“It’s not a big loss of the money. The big loss is her leg,” her daughter, Linh Duong, told KHOU.

Doctors have reportedly told Troung there’s only a 50% she will fully recover from her injuries, according to Fox 26. A month after the incident, the single mother still is not able to feel her leg and must rely on a wheelchair to get around. Troung must also receive assistance to use the bathroom, relying on her three children who are all in school, the outlet stated.

“It’s been really bad. We have to pay rent and stuff and she’s the only one that can work and help us. We don’t know what to do,” Van Duong, Truong’s daughter, told the outlet.

“I just need to practice, try to walk and stuff,” Truong told Fox 26. “I’m very sad that this happened to me and I just want to let people know to be careful.” (RELATED: Violent Daylight Robbery Caught On Camera In Greenwich, Connecticut)
