A slew of stars have lined up to take part in the “Wind River” sequel, “Wind River: The Next Chapter,” Deadline reported Wednesday.
Scott Eastwood (“Gran Torino”), Martin Sensmeier (“1883”), Gil Birmingham (“Yellowstone,” “Wind River”) and Alan Ruck (“Succession”) will star in the sequel film, according to Deadline. They will be joined by Kali Reis (“Catch The Fair One”) and Tatanka Means (“Reservation Dogs”) for the ensemble movie, which leads on from the original.
The first “Wind River” film starred Jeremy Renner and Elizabeth Olsen, and was written by “Yellowstone” co-creator Taylor Sheridan. The next installment will be written by Patrick Massett and John Zinman, according to the official IMDB page.

The story for “Wind River: The Next Chapter” continues on the reservation, where a slew of ritualistic murders are going unsolved, Deadline noted. There’s no exact information on who will play what role, except that Birmingham will be reprising his role as Martin.
“As a wave of murders remains unsolved, the FBI enlists the help of Hanson, who finds himself embroiled in a desperate and dangerous fight between the authorities, a vigilante, and the Reserve he calls home,” the IMDB page reads. Castle Rock is producing the film as part of a series of major projects. The company is also launching a “This is Spinal Tap” sequel and a “Fawlty Towers” sequel. John Cleese is set to star in the relaunch of the iconic British comedy show.
