Australian actor Hugh Jackman posted an Instagram video Tuesday revealing he recently underwent two biopsies to test for skin cancer.

Jackman issued a stark warning to fans about the dangers of sun exposure and encouraged them all to apply sunscreen before heading outdoors. Jackman wore a bandage over his nose as he said, “I wanted you to hear it from me just in case someone sees me on the street or whatever: I’ve just had two biopsies done.”

“I just went to my doctor … and she just saw little things, could be or could not be basal cell, in her opinion. She doesn’t know,” he told his Instagram followers.

Jackman said basal cell carcinoma (BCC) is the “least dangerous” form of skin cancer, adding he believes his exposure to the sun 25 years ago is what contributed to his current condition. Western Australia’s Department of Health defines BCC as the “most common form of skin cancer but the least dangerous.”

He revealed it will take several days before the diagnosis is established.

“If I can just take this opportunity to remind you, summer is coming — those of us here in the Northern Hemisphere, please wear sunscreen,” Jackman said.

“It is just not worth it. No matter how much you want a tan, trust me, trust me, trust me.”

The famous actor reiterated the importance of sun protection once more.

“Put some sunscreen on. You’ll still have an incredible time out there. Alright? Please be safe,” he said before signing off. (RELATED: WWE Wrestler Alexa Bliss Reveals Skin Cancer Diagnosis)

Jackman reminded fans this was not his first cancer scare via a note in the caption of his post.

“I know you’ve heard me talk about my basal cell carcinomas before. I’m going to keep talking about them, if need be. And if it reminds even one person to put on sunscreen with a high SPF, then I’m happy,” he wrote.
