Democratic New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez accused former President Donald Trump of intimidating the judge overseeing his case months after she mocked Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh for fleeing protesters in Washington, D.C.

Trump pleaded not guilty to 34 felony charges Tuesday after a Manhattan grand jury voted to indict him March 30. Trump is accused of falsifying business records in the first degree, according to the unsealed indictment.

Trump addressed his indictment during a speech at Mar-a-Lago on Tuesday night.

“I have a Trump-hating judge with a Trump-hating wife and family, whose daughter worked for Kamala Harris,” Trump said.

Ocasio-Cortez later took to Twitter to lambast Trump for his comments.

“He is publicly intimidating a judge and pointing a spotlight on their family to his supporters — many of whom have admitted in court to committing violence in his name. He knows what he’s doing,” she wrote.

Ocasio-Cortez had a different reaction when protesters showed up to Morton’s restaurant in Washington, D.C., while Kavanaugh was having dinner in July 2022. The protesters began harassing and protesting the justice, and he was reportedly forced to flee through a rear exit.

“Poor guy. He left before his soufflé because he decided half the country should risk death if they have an ectopic pregnancy within the wrong state lines. It’s all very unfair to him. The least they could do is let him eat cake,” she tweeted, weeks after authorities arrested Nicholas Roske for attempting to assassinate Kavanaugh. Protesters demanded Morton’s kick Kavanaugh out, though Morton’s later released a statement slamming the protesters. Kavanaugh was reportedly able to finish his meal before exiting the restaurant.

The incident happened after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in June 2022.
