Golf superstar Phil Mickelson allegedly didn’t say a single thing Tuesday during the Masters Champions Dinner.

Fuzzy Zoeller (1979 Masters champion) and Tommy Aaron (1973 Masters champion) told Golfweek that Mickelson really didn’t seem to want to get involved with anyone at Tuesday’s dinner. Apparently there was a LIV Golf-sized elephant in the room, which no one wanted to address.

“We’re just 33 past champions in a room, all trying to get along,” Zoeller commented. “Nobody said a word about it. Phil sat near the end of the table and kept to himself. He didn’t speak at all.”

Mickelson was one of 17 players suspended by the PGA Tour, which made him ineligible to play in 2022. The suspensions came after PGA Tour players reportedly failed to receive the releases to partake in conflicting events and media or did not apply for those releases in the first place.

LIV Golf, the Saudi-backed golf league with deep pockets, called the suspensions at the time “vindictive.” It “deepens the divide between the Tour and its members,” it continued. (RELATED: John Daly Shares H,is Blunt Thoughts On Biden Voters, Clinton’s Golf Game)

“I wished him good luck, but I couldn’t believe how quiet he was. Phil took a very low profile. He didn’t say a word,” Aaron told Golfweek. The 52-year-old Mickelson also took a far lower profile earlier in the run-up to the 2023 Masters, declining to take part in a pre-tournament press conference that he’s done for the last two decades, sources told the New York Post.
