Amanda Bynes was reportedly released Monday from a mental hospital in California where she has been staying for treatment for the past three weeks.

Bynes was taken to the treatment center in March after she wandered the streets of downtown Los Angeles completely naked. The actress was released from the Southern California facility Monday after the medical staff and Bynes herself made the mutual decision that she was ready to return to her normal routine, according to TMZ.

Bynes will be taking part in outpatient treatment and mental health professionals will continue to monitor her overall well-being for an undisclosed amount of time, according to TMZ.

The famous actress will be residing in her own home, the way she was before she required additional care in the mental health facility. She will be expected to maintain her own independence and care for her own daily needs, according to TMZ.

Bynes was able to recognize that she required help during the last episode that resulted in her stay at the mental health facility. She is the one that flagged down a car indicating she needed help, and was able to phone 911 to declare that she was experiencing some sort of psychosis, according to TMZ (RELATED: Pete Davidson’s Alleged Stalker Sent To Psych Facility)

Initial reports indicated Bynes would be held at the facility for 72 hours, but her stay was extended to allow more time for her mental health treatment.

Bynes was previously under a strict conservatorship for roughly 9 years.
