The Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office is reviewing claims of sexual assault made against actor Armie Hammer, according to reports.

“I can confirm that the LAPD has presented a case regarding Armie Hammer to the LADA,” the office’s communications director Tiffiny Blacknell said, according to CNN. “The matter is currently under review.”

Hammer has been accused of sexual assault by a number of women, and has also faced allegations that he has a cannibalism fetish and has engaged in abusive behavior, CNN reported Monday.

The actor has been under investigation for sexual assault since a woman known only as “Effie,” came forward in 2021 to accuse him of sexually assaulting her in 2017 attack. She alleged that Hammer raped her for hours and beat the bottoms of her feet with a crop, making it painful to walk for over a week, according to CNN. “I thought that he was going to kill me,” she said, per the outlet.

Hammer has not yet been officially charged, and denies all wrongdoing, according to CNN.

Effie maintains her story and continues to speak out against Harmer.

“I am severely traumatized by Armie. I feel disgusted that he’s not taking accountability for what he did to me, and that he’s resorted to attacking me,” Effie said in a statement to CNN. “Armie has no remorse. He continues to cause pain, and I don’t think he’s changed at all.” (RELATED:  ‘Who Knew Cannibalism Was So Popular?’: Dakota Johnson Cracks Jokes At Armie Hammer’s Expense)

Effie claimed to have had an on-again, off-again relationship with Hammer from 2016 to 2020 and alleged that he became “increasingly more violent,” as their relationship developed.

“He abused me mentally, emotionally and sexually,” she said during an earlier news conference.
