Drake Bell’s wife, Janet Von Schmeling, reportedly filed for divorce in April, after four years of marriage.

Court documents revealed that Schmeling and Bell separated in September, according to TMZ. The couple shares a one-year-old son together named Wyatt Bell. The legal documents indicated Von Schmeling is seeking primary legal and physical custody of their child, and has asked that Bell be granted visitation rights. She is reportedly also seeking spousal support, according to TMZ.

Von Schmeling cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their split. There was no further information provided about the dynamics of their relationship, or what happened to cause their marital breakdown.

The legal filing comes on the heels of a challenging week for Bell. The famous actor from “Drake and Josh” was reported missing by Florida police earlier this month. A family member reportedly phoned 911 to report that Bell was threatening suicide, and suggested this was stemming from tensions surrounding child custody, according to TMZ.

This prompted police to issue a public missing persons report in search of Bell.

Police-issued statements stated the actor was “considered missing and endangered,” and the authorities sought the aid of the public to locate him, according to TMZ. (RELATED: Reese Witherspoon Announces She’s Getting A Divorce)

Bell was eventually located and an assessment was performed to ensure he was safe and mentally sound.

Deputies took action to ensure Bell received a mental health evaluation, according to TMZ. Shortly after he was located, Bell took to social media to state he was never ‘missing,’ and had actually just left his phone in his car for a brief period.
