The first trailer of “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom” was shown at CinemaCon on Tuesday, revealing a brief scene featuring Amber Heard.

Heard’s appearance in the Warner Bros.’ movie trailer silenced rumors suggesting she had been kicked out of the movie, according to Insider. Heard’s involvement in the film was reportedly at risk because of her Johnny Depp’s highly publicized defamation lawsuit against her. Depp came out victorious, and Heard publicly declared her difficulties in maintaining roles in Hollywood, according to Insider. Although Heard does appear in “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom,” her role appears to have been greatly diminished compared to her original starring role.

Heard played the character Mera, who was the love interest of Aquaman, in the 2018 original movie. She appears in two shots in the trailer of the sequel, and is depicted doing battle while under water. She has no dialogue in the teaser trailer but it remains unclear if she has a speaking role in the actual film, according to Insider.

Rumors suggested the famous actress had been “cut” from the film during her trial.

“The rumor mill continues as it has from day one — inaccurate, insensitive, and slightly insane,” a spokesperson for Heard told Insider at the time the rumors began.

Heard spoke out about the situation during her defamation trial, and indicated her role was “heavily reduced.”

“I fought really hard to stay in the movie — they didn’t want to include me in the film,” Heard said on the stand, according to Insider.

She adding that she performed “a very pared-down version” of the role that took away a number of her highly-anticipated action scenes. (RELATED: REPORT: Amber Heard Privately Settles Defamation Case With Johnny Depp)

Fans likely won’t see her in the role of main supporting actor, but she does seem to have made a lower-key return to the franchise.

“Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom” is set for worldwide release December 20.
