The Los Angeles Police Department responded to a call requesting a welfare check on a 27-year-old woman, and when they knocked at the front door, Keanu Reeves answered it, TMZ reported Tuesday.

It wasn’t immediately clear to the police whether the call was a prank, or there was some sort of confusion with the address the caller provided, according to TMZ. The police said the caller claimed not to have heard from the woman in some time, prompting concerns about her well being, according to TMZ.

Police also indicated that the caller provided them with the full name of the woman along with her birth date and the type of vehicle she was driving.

They shared the female’s name with the famous actor, but Reeves insisted he didn’t know anyone by that name, and told the police there was certainly nobody going by that name that was inside his home, according to TMZ. (RELATED:  REPORT: Police Surround Billie Eilish’s Home After Prank Call)

Police remain baffled by the call and are still unsure whether there was any truth to the cry for help. Officers reported that Reeves was kind and cooperative during the encounter, despite the suspicious and unsettling circumstances.

The actor has yet to publicly comment on the incident.
