MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough chastised his wife, co-host Mika Brzezinski, on Friday after she said that some people claim former President Donald Trump started an insurrection.

The panel was discussing the recent convictions of four members of the Proud Boys in relation to the Jan. 6 riot, but soon turned its attention toward Trump.

“I think that Donald Trump does a really good [sic] at normalizing things that are absolutely abhorrent,” Brzezsinki said, arguing the upcoming CNN Town Hall with Trump “needs to start” with the fact that President Joe Biden won in 2020. “[Otherwise] you start to normalize the fact that he was indicted. You start to normalize the fact that some believe he started an insurrection against our democracy. You start to normalize everything that he has done to push back against constitutional norms by bringing him back in without stopping right there on the facts and not budging–”

“On one fact,” Scarborough tried to interject though Brzezinski kept talking. (RELATED: DC Appeals Court Denies Trump’s Request To Block Former Aides’ Testimony In Jan 6 Case: REPORT)

“You know what, this whole thing is over if we can’t agree on this truth, because we’re not going to sit here and let you do this to our country, spew lies and disinformation … without agreeing on the facts.”

“Just one, I won’t say correction because I never correct you Mika,” Scarborough chimed in, seemingly appearing uncomfortable.

“Go ahead,” Brzezinski said.

“You said that some people say he started an insurrection against, no he started an insurrection. He led an insurrection to try to overthrow an elected president,” Scarborough claimed.

The rest of the panel then chimed in, with Voto Latino founding president Maria Teresa Kumar applauding MSNBC for not airing Trump’s 2024 announcement in full and criticizing CNN for doing it.

Four Proud Boys members were found guilty Thursday of seditious conspiracy, obstructing Congress’ Jan. 6 electoral vote certification, conspiring to prevent an officer from discharging their duties, obstructing law enforcement during civil disorder and destroying government property. Only one individual, Dominic Pezzola, was found not guilty of seditious conspiracy.
