The remains of Sober Grid CEO Beau Mann were positively identified Saturday after being found in the courtyard of an abandoned property in Santa Monica, California, in April.

Mann was 39 years old at the time of his disappearance, and he was last seen Nov. 30, 2021, according to ABC7. He had been traveling in an Uber rideshare from a 7/11 near his company’s headquarters prior to his disappearance, and had allegedly texted 911 saying he needed help. His remains were uncovered in the courtyard of a deserted Santa Monica property, one mile from where the Uber dropped him off, the New York Post reported Monday.

“His identity was confirmed through dental records. At this point, we have no further details on what led to his death,” his family said in a statement cited by the outlet. No official cause of death has been revealed thus far, as investigators are still working to determine what happened.

Mann’s fiancé, Jason Abate, shared a heartfelt message on his social media following the positive identification of Mann’s remains. “I have so many questions and no answers. Beau, how can you be gone, how do all of these memories exist so vividly and you’re gone?” he wrote. (RELATED: Cash App Founder Stabbed To Death In San Francisco)

Mann founded the digital app Sober Grid in 2015 as an online global community for people in recovery, according to the NY Post. He’d allegedly struggled with addiction early in his life, and the company went on to help thousands of people going through similar problems.
