“American Idol” fans are seemingly “over” Katy Perry and are petitioning for Alanis Morissette to permanently take over her role on the judges panel.

Morissette and Ed Sheeran took over for Perry and Lionel Richie when the pair left the show to perform at the coronation concert held in honor of King Charles III earlier in May. Perry’s hiatus from the show could be a permanent one if these fans gets their way. Many viewers were so impressed by Morissette’s demeanor and the nature of her comments on that show that they immediately began an online petition to keep her in Perry’s seat, arguing they’ve had enough of Perry’s onstage behavior.

Fans were quick to share their love for Morissette, and many were equally eager to slam Perry for what they deem to be inappropriate comments she has made on the show. Perry has been accused of mom-shaming, and has made allegedly harsh comments fans say they can do without.

“Would actually watch if Alanis was part of the show,” Twitter user Brian Bailie Jr. wrote.

“I want you as a permanent judge!” another fan tweeted in response to Morissette’s post about her time on the show.

“I’ve always enjoyed your music, but watching you on American Idol and seeing how much you cared about these kids and how wonderful you were with them was awesome,” yet another Twitter user wrote. “You seem like a very genuine person and you don’t see that much these days! Thanks for being you!”

The internet is flooded with love for Morissette and although some fans did chime in with comments in favor of Perry’s return, the most predominant messages suggested Perry has already been canceled by the majority of “American Idol” fans, and that Morissette is far more adored and admired. There is no word on whether or not this online campaign will have any effect on the status of the “American Idol” judges panel.
