CNN’s viewership in the 25-54 demo went up in the last few Fridays, as Fox News’ and MSNBC’s went down, numbers show.
Newsmax’s 8 p.m. program, “Eric Bolling The Balance,” defeated CNN’s “Anderson Cooper 360” by 20,000 views. Bolling’s show received 467,000 views and Cooper’s garnered 447,000, Forbes reported. CNN has suffered in ratings in the past year, reaching its lowest viewership in history at the end of 2022. The network averaged a little over a half million viewers in a day, and slightly over 120,000 in the key 25-54-year-old advertiser demographic.
Fox News has repeatedly dominated CNN and MSNBC’s ratings. In May 2022, both networks scored the lowest in total viewers, as CNN had an average of 511,000 daytime views and 545,000 primetime viewership and MSNBC had 753,000 daytime viewership overall and 1 million primetime views. Fox News had a total average viewership of 1.72 million.
Newsmax’s ratings soared on the first night following Daily Caller co-founder Tucker Carlson’s exit from Fox News. The “Tucker Carlson Tonight” replacement, “Fox News Tonight,” has dropped in the key 25-54 demo and in average viewership.
Since Carlson’s departure, Fox News’ viewership has been down in the 25-54 memo as a portion its audience shifted to Newsmax.
