The Cavinder twins are officially in WWE!

As a fan of sports and professional wrestling and as someone who has covered both professionally, I can personally tell you that the two worlds mix very well — so it’s not surprising to see athletes make an easy transition when it happens. Heck, the top act in WWE right now (Roman Reigns) came from a football background.

And now here comes Haley and Hanna Cavinder, who made their debut for WWE in their NXT developmental brand Tuesday night.

If you’re not familiar with who the Cavinder twins are (how could you not? they’re everywhere), they rose to fame when they were ballin’ on the Fresno State University women’s basketball team, eventually transferring to the University of Miami to play for my Hurricanes.

While at The U, they helped lead the Canes to their first ever women’s Elite Eight in program history, and in the process of this, the ladies were also building an empire off the court. During their time at Miami, they pulled in millions of dollars off NIL deals, and on TikTok, they have a hefty influence with over 4.5 million followers.

The Cavinder Twins could have gone to Miami for another year, but instead opted out to sign contracts with Jake Paul’s sports betting and media company Betr, and they also inked a developmental contract with WWE.

“We love the WWE,” Haley said during a ‘The Today Show’ interview. “The fan base, the sport, the fitness side of it … they’re great, our partner, and we’re very excited in a future with them.”

And that’s how the Cavinders got to this point with WWE.

Well, since they signed the developmental deal with the sports entertainment giant, it hasn’t been clear on what exactly was going to happen with the ‘Cavinder Twins x WWE’ connection — if anything happened at all. But on Tuesday night, it actually became a reality, first starting with this surprise tease from the duo.

And then in an even bigger surprise, they made their on-screen debut on NXT to end the anticipation and speculation (and dreaming for some), appearing to join the ‘Chase U’ faction.

And understandably so, wrestling fans completely lost their minds:

Man, this is so cool.

As a Miami Hurricanes fan, I’m definitely big on the Cavinder twins, and being a huge fan of professional wrestling, I’m excited to see them in WWE. And I love how they put them in Chase U so they can still throw up the ‘U’ and represent the Canes.
