A laundromat in Florida embedded in “a single-level commercial structure” that housed “multiple shops” exploded Tuesday, injuring four persons, a press release by Ocala Fire Rescue (OFR) said.

A video taken from “a security camera from a neighboring business” captured the moment when the laundromat exploded, the fire rescue department wrote on Facebook.(RELATED: Horrific Body Cam Footage Captures Moment Man Blows Up House)

The footage shows a sudden explosion that tears down much of the facade of the laundromat. Windows appear to shatter from the impact of the blast. Smoke and debris can be seen rising into the air.

Ocala Fire Rescue also shared a close-up video of the aftermath of the explosion.

Various pieces of rubble and a sign containing the word “laundromat” can be seen strewn about the parking lot. Fire trucks are at the scene.

Two of the four individuals injured in the blast were transported to the hospital, according to the Ocala Fire Rescue press statement. When rescue officials arrived at the scene they observed “smoke and flames coming from the area of the laundromat.” Once the emergency crews brought that under control they declared “the laundromat and seven adjacent shops inaccessible for regular operations.”

Family and friends of the victims of the blast said the explosion occurred right after they put their clothes into a dryer, Click Orlando reported. The roof collapsed onto the shop goers due to the force of the explosion, the outlet noted.

“Who would have thought in a million years?” Tiffany King, a god sister to one of the victims, told the outlet. “I have close friends, so many people who come to this location. It’s just crazy.”

Officials are investigating the incident and suspect a gas leak caused the explosion, Click Orlando reported.
