The father of famous singer Kehlani’s child filed for full custody of their daughter, alleging she is part of a cult, TMZ reported Monday.
Javaughn Young-White filed for full custody of their 5-year-old daughter, Adeya, and claimed that Kehlani is part of a cult that has influenced how she raises their child, according to TMZ. Young-White reportedly claimed she has been part of this cult for several years.
He further alleged that the leader of the cult, which TMZ did not name, has numerous sexual assault allegations. Young-White fears his daughter could be at risk of abuse, the outlet reported.
The father also alleges the leader of the unnamed cult has a big influence over Kehlani, saying he may have convinced the singer to keep his daughter from him, TMZ reported. Young-White also reportedly believes Kehlani’s busy tour schedule doesn’t make her fit for custody. (RELATED: Judge Grants Famous Singer 3-Year Restraining Order Against His Son).

The Grammy-nominated singer welcomed her daughter with Young-White in March 2019, according to PEOPLE. The pair later split up in 2020, TMZ noted.
Kehlani often shares photos of her daughter on social media, who appeared in the music video for her song “Little Story,” PEOPLE reported. Adeya went on tour with her mother in 2022 in which Kehlani shared how important it is that she does “what’s best” for her daughter while on tour, the outlet reported.

“I don’t want her to ever feel like I was dragging her along with my life,” Kehlani said in a 2022 interview with Apple Music. “With touring, I’m taking the extra mile to make sure every venue is really baby friendly and we’re gonna have like a little nursery going on in the backstage and alcohol-free zones and just making sure everything is catering to my kid.”
