Dennis Quaid joined Patrick Bet-David (PBD) for a conversation Friday in which the actor gave a detailed description of his family history.
It seemed like no topic was off limits for Quaid and PBD during their lengthy conversation. Discussions ranged from being Conservative in Hollywood to the threat of an EMP attack on our energy grid, as well as Quaid’s relationship with Jesus Christ. It was when the two men started chatting about Quaid’s family that things got pretty emotional.
It turns out Quaid comes from a massive kin. He thinks he has more than 50 first cousins on just one side of his family, while his own parents only had him and his brothers, Buddy and Randy, the latter of whom is an actor in his own right.
PBD asked whether Randy still had feelings about Hollywood, presumably referring to an incident in which he and his wife tried to claim asylum in Canada because they thought people in Hollywood were trying to kill them, according to The Independent. “Randy doesn’t like me to talk about … what’s going on with him. All I can say is that I really love my brother, and I miss my brother,” Quaid said, looking pensively at PBD.
“And I will say this, you know, Randy could have like a great third act,” Quaid continued, to which PBD agreed, ” … in the movies, and I would love to see that. He’s one of the best actors [that we’ve] produced in this country.” (RELATED: Dennis Quaid Somehow Tops Christian Charts With His Latest Album)
Quaid seemed to be getting visibly choked up by the conversation, repeating that Randy was one of his favorite actors, ranking him up there with Jack Nicholson and Marlon Brando. His statements almost seemed like a call to action for his brother. Even the audience cheered for Randy’s third act.
I’m not crying. You’re crying.
