Country music star Cody Johnson said Monday that he’s in talks with “Yellowstone” creator Taylor Sheridan about a possible acting debut.

Johnson claimed that he’s apparently tried to be a part of the “Yellowstone” universe multiple times but for some reason just couldn’t make it happen, he told Rob + Holly on Audacy.

“We’ve tried a couple of times [for “Yellowstone”] and my schedule is too busy to put aside the time,” Johnson explained. “We’re looking ahead to the future. There’s a few movie things where I’m like, ‘Look, if you guys give me the notice I can make this happen.’”

Johnson would be far from the only country music star to find himself wandering a Sheridan set. Ryan Bingham, who plays bunkhouse boy Walker, was a musician before joining the show. Whiskey Myers, while not necessarily actors on the show, definitely got their biggest public break thanks to Sheridan putting them in the first season of the show. Then there’s Lainey Wilson, who had her own little role in the most recent series as the love interest of another bunkhouse boy, Ryan (Ian Bohen). Even lead actor Luke Grimes, who plays Kayce Dutton, dabbles in music.

Sheridan is apparently working on a whole new spinoff from “Yellowstone” — not a prequel, but a continuation of the flagship series. Reports have said it’s called “2024” and possibly “The Madison.” Either way, maybe this will be where Johnson ends up?
