The Fugees and Lauryn Hill quietly canceled their U.S. summer and fall tour dates without publicly declaring a reason.
The dates were removed from Ticketmaster, and fans who had already purchased tickets for their shows have been receiving notices about how to obtain refunds as of late Tuesday, according to Variety. There has been no reason or explanation provided to fans, in spite of the fact that the first canceled date was just three days away.
The Fugees rose to prominence in the 90s and have long been considered as major influences in the rap and hip hop scene. The legendary Wyclef Jean, Pras Michel and Lauryn Hill, who has also seen success as part of her solo career, founded the group.
The nature of this cancelation is different than what fans are accustomed to seeing. The usual protocol involves social media announcements and updates that are broadcasted to fans, but in this particular instance, all parties have been silent.

Fans with tickets in hand have been sharing their experiences online, and some have posted screenshots of the cancelation notice they received from Live Nation.
“Your event has been canceled. A refund will be on its way to your account soon,” the short message reads.

The tour was set to begin Friday in Tampa, Florida. Numerous dates have been affected, including the highly anticipated performance at the Hollywood Bowl previously scheduled for Sept. 17. Shows scheduled to take place in New York and New Jersey at the tail end of September have also been called off, in addition to shows in Atlanta, Philadelphia, Dallas, Houston and Milwaukee. A total of 18 American tour dates have been entirely wiped off the calendar, according to Variety.
Fans can still purchase tickets for the overseas leg of the tour that starts Oct. 12 in Manchester, England, and October dates in Amsterdam, London and Paris still remain listed as scheduled events.
It’s unclear if those days will remain untouched, or if they, too, will see the same fate as the U.S. tour dates. (RELATED: Aerosmith Retires From Touring Due To Steven Tyler’s Health)
Hill and The Fugees canceled other shows as recently as November 2023, when Hill said a vocal strain was preventing her from performing.
