Video captured by a CCTV camera in India showed a dog falling from a terrace of a building onto a girl Tuesday, reportedly killing her, according to police.
The dog was also seriously injured due to the fall and was transported to the hospital, the Indian Express reported.
Siraj Noorani, a journalist, tweeted the video of the incident.

The video shows a street full of people walking and biking around. A dog can then be seen falling on a girl walking on the street while accompanied by multiple adults. A woman snatches the girl as the dog lays on the street. The woman holds the girl in her hands after the incident as she walks out of the frame of the camera. The crowd largely ignores the dog as it struggles to get back on its feet.

Authorities said the dog appears to belong to a local who will be contacted by police for questioning over the circumstances of the animal’s fall, The Indian Express reported. Senior Inspector Anil Shinde reportedly said he would contact the Thane Municipal Corporation to see if the dog was owned legally.
The deceased girl’s mother said she did not want to file a complaint against anyone in a statement, police told the outlet. The Daily Caller reached out to the Thane City Police, where this tragic incident occurred, but has yet to receive a response.
This is not the first time a dog’s fall caused death. Cachi, an Argentinian poodle, fell from a 13-floor balcony in Buenos Aires onto the head of a 75-year-old woman in 1988, The Canberra Times reported at the time. The lethal fall reportedly killed both the dog and the woman instantly. It also led to the indirect deaths of two other people, the outlet noted. A 46-year-old woman was reportedly hit by a bus when she was staring at the gruesome scene from the street. A man had a lethal heart attack after viewing both incidents, the outlet reported.
