Tough time to be a Niners fan.

After making the Super Bowl last year and being one of the favorites to win it all here in 2024, the expectations are incredibly high for the San Francisco 49ers coming into the new campaign.

With that being said, things have gotten pretty bad for the Niners here in the preseason as they have piled up the injuries. In fact, they have so many injuries that they were forced to cancel upcoming joint practices that they had scheduled with the New Orleans Saints, according to ESPN NFL reporter Nick Wagoner.

On top of that, San Francisco is still dealing with superstar wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk “holding in” and star left tackle Trent Williams being a holdout. (RELATED: ‘Don’t Try To Smooth This Over’: Steve Smith Flames NFL Reporter After Falsely Saying He Got Knocked Out At UFC 302)

On the injury front in particular, it’s horrible, with the team currently without running back Christian McCaffrey, linebacker Fred Warner, wide receiver Ricky Pearsall and offensive tackle Spencer Buford. And as you see, these aren’t just injuries, but injuries to star players.

Yeah, it’s pretty bad, and I didn’t even mention the fact that they’re still without linebacker Dre Greenlaw, who won’t be back until midseason after he suffered a torn ACL in the Super Bowl defeat to the Kansas City Chiefs last campaign.

Brutal … and this is exactly why the 49ers decided to cancel their joint practices with the Saints.

And that’s the way the cookie crumbles in the National Football League.
