College football season is so close, and it’s absolutely glorious!

You know that’s the case when The Associated Press (AP) Top 25 preseason poll drops, which happened Monday. (RELATED: 49ers Forced To Cancel Upcoming Joint Practices With Saints Because Of An Incredible Amount Of Injuries: REPORT)

You won’t be surprised to know that the Georgia Bulldogs will kick off the new campaign as the No. 1 team in the nation, having a comfortable lead with their 46 first-place votes over Ohio State’s 15.

As far as the rest of the poll, it’s pretty much what you’d expect — check it out:

  1. Georgia
  2. Ohio State
  3. Oregon
  4. Texas
  5. Alabama
  6. Ole Miss
  7. Notre Dame
  8. Penn State
  9. Michigan
  10. Florida State
  11. Missouri
  12. Utah
  13. LSU
  14. Clemson
  15. Tennessee
  16. Oklahoma
  17. Oklahoma State
  18. Kansas State
  19. Miami
  20. Texas A&M
  21. Arizona
  22. Kansas
  23. USC
  24. North Carolina State
  25. Iowa

Georgia was dominant last season, finishing 13-1 and blowing out Florida State in the Orange Bowl. This season, they return quarterback Carson Beck and a stack of high-level recruiting from the past three years.

In other words, they’re the clear No. 1.

After a mediocre season and a disastrous ending in the Pinstripe Bowl, I can’t complain much as a Miami Hurricanes fan with us having the No. 19 ranking. I’m assuming that’s because of the potential of what could happen with quarterback Cam Ward.

It’s definitely got me excited for the new season, I just hope to God the hype is real. If so, we might be talking about an opportunity for a natty. Go Canes!
