Two men were fatally shot at the I-29 Speedway in Mills County ahead of The Pull-Up Car Show on Aug. 10.
Boosie Badazz was set to headline the concert, alongside Rob49, at the event which included muscle cars, drag races, and live performances from various artists, but was abruptly called off when gunshots rang out. The Mills County Sheriff’s Office responded to calls of a shooting in the parking lot of the outdoor concert at approximately 8:59 p.m., according to a statement issued by police Aug. 11. Two men, Marcus L. Johnson, 28, and Charles A. Williams Jr., 27, both from Omaha, Nebraska, were pronounced dead as a result of the shooting.
The Mills County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, Iowa State Patrol, Omaha Police Department, and several surrounding law enforcement agencies.
Local news outlet KMA Land reported that authorities were looking for at least three subjects in a black Mercedes sedan, and noted an Omaha Police helicopter was requested to conduct an aerial search of the area. The Mills County Sheriff’s Office did not confirm those details in their brief statement.

Boosie Badazz released a video to his Instagram page upon hearing of the shooting, and seemed unaware of the severity of the incident and the reason behind the cancelation of the concert.

“They shut the concert down. I dunno, some shit happened at the front, but we finna to take it to Crush Ultra Lounge,” he told his fans.
