Star of summer blockbuster “It Ends With Us” Justin Baldoni has hired a crisis PR team to deal with rumors swirling around production, Deadline reported Tuesday.
“It Ends With Us” is the movie adaptation of the hit Colleen Hoover novel of the same title and stars Blake Lively, Jenny Slate, Brandon Sklenar and Baldoni, who is now the subject of some pretty hellish rumors about the movie’s production, according to Deadline. Baldoni reportedly hired crisis PR expert Melissa Nathan of The Agency Group to handle fan-fueled rumors that he and Lively got into a huge fight during filming.
Fans erupted on TikTok, pointing to a number of examples of Baldoni and Lively not taking photographs together at various red carpet and press events. Lively does not follow Baldoni on social either, the fans noted.
The rumors probably aren’t helped by the fact Baldoni plays Lively’s abusive lover in the movie. And honestly, had Baldoni not hired this crisis PR firm, I would presume the drama and gossip was an expertly-crafted guerilla marketing ploy for the film itself. Apparently not.
Sources close to the film said Baldoni, who also co-financed the film through his Wayfarer Studios, and Lively didn’t get along well while filming, Deadline noted, before describing how Lively took a very hands-on role, managing the editing room and directing creative for the movie’s social media. Deadline didn’t say how the alleged falling out and Lively’s attitude toward production were related … so we’ll leave you to come up with your own rumors on how these two things intertwine.
