“Parenthood” star Mae Whitman welcomed her first child into the world.
The 36-year-old star shared an adorable photograph to social media Aug 28., introducing her newborn to her 1.2 million fans and followers.
“Not to be a Bieber about it but I too just gave birth to our son, Miles. From the moment we heard the first tiny sound out of his tiny piggy mouth we were besotted,” she wrote. “He is the kindest, gentlest, smartest, funniest little beebee and he’s our best friend (pretty much exactly like his namesake Uncle Miles @younggoth),” Whitman shared on Instagram.

Whitman revealed that she chose the name Miles in honor of her best friend and fellow actor Miles Heizer that played the role of her brother Drew Holt in “Parenthood.”
The photograph shared to her Instagram page showed her son’s tiny foot gripping an adult finger, clearly demonstrating how tiny the baby’s feet were in comparison.
“We are infinitely grateful he chose us as his parents. thank you to @kaiserbente and @carynfields and everyone at @moxiebirth and @huntingtonhospital for guiding our little family through all the unexpected twists and turns safely and with love and grace and to everyone in our circle who has shown us such radical generosity and support,” Whitman shared.
The famous actress was unable to contain her joy as she embarked on motherhood for the very first time.
