Security abruptly halted Green Day’s concert Sept. 4 at Comerica Park in Detroit after a suspicious drone was spotted hovering overhead.

The band ran off stage after being tipped off about the possible security breach. Green Day began to play the bridge of their hit song “Longview,” when they were whisked away, and their devoted fans continued to sing the lyrics of the song in their absence, according to Billboard.

Sources close to the situation later reported that an unauthorized drone was hovering within sight of the stage, prompting security to take immediate measures to ensure the safety of the band members, according to Billboard.

There was no immediate explanation provided to the crowd. After a few moments, a message flashed on the video screen, saying, “Show Pause. Please standby for details,” according to Billboard.

The pause ended up being roughly 10 minutes in length. The band returned with renewed energy and tried to hype up the crowd to reengage them.

“How you doing?” frontman Billie Joe Armstrong asked the crowd.

He proceeded to tell the almost 41,000 fans in the audience that the show would indeed go on.

“We’re gonna pick up where we left off,” he said.

Armstrong then requested that fans put their cell phones away for a while.

“Pull ’em out later. Let’s be here right now.”

Green Day reignited the stage with an energetic rendition of “Welcome to Paradise,” before declaring, “Ain’t no motherfucker that’s gonna stop us, I’ll tell you that!”
