“The Simpsons” reportedly revealed the death of matriarch Marge Simpson in the Season 36 finale, titled “Estranger Things.”
The flash-forward scene showed Marge sitting on a cloud in heaven and looking down at her family, according to the New York Post (NYP). Marge observed Bart and Lisa’s bond deteriorating and came to realize they became estranged 35 years after her death. A brief scene from Marge’s funeral showed Homer crying as he stood over his late wife’s grave. In an even more shocking twist, Marg is reportedly linked romantically to a famous lover in heaven.

The clip showed how each of the characters’ lives developed over time. Bart was running an unlicensed retirement home that housed Homer, while Lisa was the commissioner of the NBA and was paying for Homer’s housing.
The video then showed Senior Protective Services removing Homer from the home and intending to send him to Florida, according to the NYP. Amid the drama, Lisa located an old video from her late mother. The clip showed Marge telling Bart and Lisa to always rely on one another, inspiring the siblings to rekindle their bond and join forces to save their father.

The plot thickens once more when Ringo Starr appears in the clip and affectionately addresses Marge. “Love, we’ll be late for the Heaven Buffett. There’s a shrimp tower,” he says. (RELATED: Keanu Reeves Transforms From Badass To Guardian Angel In ‘Good Fortune’ Movie Trailer)
