Dr. Irwin F. Gellman is an interesting combination of scholar, professor, author, speaker and businessman. Born in Philadelphia and raised in Baltimore, Gellman received his B.A. and M.A. from the University of Maryland and his Ph.D. from Indiana University. Among the places he has taught are Indiana University, the University of California Irvine and Chapman University. He was an academic dean at Morgan State. His five books are: Roosevelt and Batista, Good Neighbor Diplomacy, Secret Affairs, The Contender and The President and the Apprentice. He is currently working on a book about the 1960 presidential election. The President and the Apprentice is a finalist for the Biographers’ International Organization’s Plutarch Award for the best biography of 2015.
