Richard White is a founding principal of the Alpine Group, a Washington based federal legislative consulting firm, and co-head of the firm’s health care policy practice. His practice areas include Medicare reimbursement coverage and payment issues, FDA and drug approval issues, as well as Medicaid policy. <br /> <br /> Mr. White is considered a leading consultant on issues affecting the medical imaging community. He currently represents the industry trade associations for both manufacturers of radiopharmaceutical and contrast agents as well as the largest medical specialty society focused on medical imaging. Mr. White has extensive experience establishing and managing specialized health care industry coalitions. <br /> <br /> In addition to his healthcare practice, Mr. White has represented for the past ten yeas one of America’s largest life insurance companies on issues involving financial services reform, class action reform, tort reform and issues related to state and federal regulation of insurance. Mr. White has also advised corporate clients in dealing with high profile congressional oversight investigations. <br /> <br /> Mr. White began his Washington career in 1988 working for the late Senator John Chafee (R-RI). During Mr. White’s tenure with the Senator, he served as Legislative Coordinator focusing on health care, tax, and environment issues and as Field Director of Senator Chafee's 1988 re-election campaign. He later served as Campaign Manager of Fred Lippitt’s 1990 Independent bid for Mayor of Providence, Rhode Island. In addition, Mr. White served as a legal intern at the Office of Management and Budget in the Health and Income Maintenance Division, where he conducted research on health care policy issues. <br /> <br /> Prior to co-founding Alpine Group, Inc. in 1996, Mr. White was a Senior Associate with R. Duffy Wall and Associates, a large government affairs consulting firm located in Washington, D.C. <br /> <br /> He received his BA from Franklin and Marshall College and his J.D. from the Columbus School of Law at Catholic University where he was a recipient of the Dulin and Haynes Law and Public Policy Scholarship Award. Mr. White is a native of Rhode Island and currently lives in Washington D.C. with his wife Lisa and their three children.
