Sal Russo

Chief Strategist, Tea Party Express

Sal Russo is the chief strategist of Tea Party Express. He worked on Ronald Reagan's 1966 gubernatorial campaign and stayed on as an aide during his administration. He assisted Congressman Jack Kemp in his 1988 presidential campaign and also served as the head of Campaign for a New Agenda, the political action committee formed by Jack Kemp to promote conservative social, cultural and economic issues. He also was instrumental in working with Mr. Kemp in forming Empower America, the conservative think tank headed by conservatives Jeanne Kirkpatrick and Bill Bennett. Mr. Russo holds a B.A. in Government from California State University, Sacramento, and a J.D. from McGeorge School of Law, University of the Pacific.
