Fact Check Reporter

Check Your Fact is accepting resumes for a full-time fact check reporter to work out of our Washington, D.C. headquarters. The fact check team finds and evaluates the false, misleading and sometimes surprising claims made by political figures, as well as the many claims that rocket across social media every day.

A candidate for this role should have strong research skills, broad knowledge of U.S. policy and politics and the ability to write clearly and concisely. He or she must also have excellent attention to detail and a desire to consider issues from both sides.

The Daily Caller  is seeking a whip-smart, lightning-fast video editor who can churn out thousands of hours of entertainment. The job entails managing content on one of the country’s most-read news sites from our Washington, D.C. headquarters.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

  • Basic experience with video/audio production
  • Operational knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite — Premiere, Photoshop and After Effects
  • Ability to operate in a deadline-heavy news environment
  • Familiarity with the current political landscape
  • Rapidly deploying to real news events at a moment’s notice, camera in hand.

Subscriptions & Marketing Specialist

As a Subscriptions & Marketing Specialist you will be key to business operations. By working closely with internal teams, third party vendors and partners you will help us to provide value to our paid subscribers and grow revenue. This position provides a unique opportunity for you to learn about digital publishing, digital marketing and the digital subscriptions business, as you’ll be working on both managing our premium products and assisting with marketing operations. As an important part of a small team, you’ll have the chance to influence the direction of a growing company.

Responsibilities

  • Manage our premium subscriptions platform (Piano) including A/B testing of pricing, signup options, email notifications, and optimization of conversions for revenue
  • Use platforms like facebook and google to run campaigns to gain more subscribers, track metrics and optimize
  • Work with team on marketing and delivery of existing offerings and develop new subscription products
  • Provide some customer service to subscribers

Candidates Should Have

  • Critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task efficiently and effectively
  • 1-2 years of digital business experience
  • A strong work ethic

Outstanding Candidates Have

Investigative Reporter

The Daily Caller News Foundation is seeking an investigative reporter to join our top-tier team.

The ideal candidate will have a broad portfolio of news stories under their byline and will have the ability to conduct long-term and short-term investigations alike. The reporter would have a strong news judgment and an understanding of a national audiences’ interests. The candidate would also have refined research and writing skills. At least three years experience preferred.

The reporter would join a team of experienced, aggressive investigative reporters and the most irreverent newsroom in the country.

Associate Editor

The Daily Caller News Foundation is seeking an associate editor to manage policy, political and breaking news content.

The candidate must be a speedy and competent copy editor capable of editing news stories for both accuracy and readability. Must be proficient with AP style.

The candidate must have excellent news judgment, with an eye for what stories will draw incredible amounts of interest. He or she must also know how to optimize content to attract visitors from a variety of sources — including search engines and social media.

The candidate should have strong knowledge of U.S. policy and politics in addition to having a great eye for viral content.

The candidate must be extremely clever and love packaging stories, with hilarious and/or clickable headlines and stunning photos.

The candidate will also be expected to occasionally write and report interesting news stories in a clear and concise manner. Most importantly, the candidate should enjoy working in an irreverent and fast-moving atmosphere.

At least two years of professional journalism experience is preferred, but not required.
